Founded in 1998, Isis Innovation leads the UK in technology transfers and successfully files approximately one new patent per week.

Many innovative products and technologies have been developed after significant research at Oxford, including the creation of a diagnostic test to assess the degree of nicotine dependence to help people stop smoking. Some 40 other Oxford spin-off companies have become extremely successful in industry, including Oxford Instruments, a global leader in advanced instrumentation.
